Crunchy paneer Fingers | KFC style paneer fingers

This crunchy paneer recipe is a perfect appetizer for any party or get together. You can make this as an evening snack as well, I bet your kids will love them, mine does. This is a quick and easy – pure vegetarian dish. Crispy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. Surprise your guests with this dish and I’m sure you will get amazing feedback J

Ingredients:

Paneer – 200gms

Chilli powder – 1 tbsp

Coriander powder – 1 tbsp

Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp

Garam masala powder – 1 tsp

Pepper powder – 1 tsp

Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tbsp

Maida flour – 2 tbsp

Corn flour – 2 tbsp

Salt – to taste

Bread crumbs – for coating

Oil – for frying

Method:

The batter:

  • Take a bowl and add all the dry ingredients
    • 1 tbsp of Chilli powder
    • 1 tbsp of Coriander powder
    • ¼ tsp of Turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp of Garam masala powder
    • 1 tsp of Pepper powder
    • 2 tbsp of Maida flour
    • 2 tbsp of Corn flour
    • Salt – to taste

    And 2 tbsp of Ginger garlic paste.

  • Mix well, before adding water. Then add water in parts. This way, we can avoid any lumps in the batter. Keep mixing.
  • The batter should be thick, but flowing consistency.

Preparing the Paneer:

  • Cut the paneer into thin long sticks.
  • Coat the paneer sticks on all sides with the prepared batter.
  • Cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Do not freeze it. This will induce as much as flavor into the paneer.
  • After 30 minutes, take the marinated paneer and coat it with bread crumbs.

    Note: if you don’t have breadcrumbs, take some oats or corn flakes in a mixie jar and grind it roughly. Use this ground mixture to coat the paneer sticks. This will give the same crunchy effect.

Frying the Paneer Fingers:

  • In a thick bottomed pan, heat oil. The oil must be sizzling hot.
  • Add the paneer one by one.
  • Flip them regularly for even cooking on all sides.
  • Fry the paneer till they turn golden brown. Remove from pan.
  • Your yummy crunchy paneer finger is ready. Serve hot with tomato sauce or mayonnaise.
